Creative Flow

8-17-2022

We just returned home from our first vacation in over two years. After celebrating with family at my brother’s wedding outside Bennington, Arkansas we drove to our destination on the White River.

It didn’t take us long to fall head over heels in love with the Natural State.

The White River

A stone lodged in driftwood on the shore of a creek.

Beauty and inspiration surrounded us; not only the natural beauty, but the history, old buildings built from native stone; there something around every corner.

I took pictures, sketched, and felt my creative juices flowing just like the river right outside the back door of our cottage. And then I came home. As we re-entered real life, the juices stopped flowing. Like stagnate water that starts to smell bad, I felt everything that came off my hook was a waste of my time and energy.

Today, however, is a new day.
